As a Technical Lead at Deloitte Digital, you’ll be responsible for developing cutting-edge digital commerce solutions. You'll have the chance to work with some of the best Developers, UX Designers and Strategy thinkers in the business, delivering world-class eCommerce solutions for some of the biggest and best companies in the world. For us, developers are not people who are locked in a room to churn out code to match a large paper based specification. They need to work alongside our clients and their customers to combine deep technical expertise with innovative thinking and a strong understanding of what makes businesses and their customers tick. Responsibilities

  • Leading a team(s) of developers to deliver end-to-end eCommerce solutions
  • Producing realistic estimates and commitments around solution design and planning
  • Ensuring project and technical decisions are made as a team and do everything in your power to provide your team with the environment and support they need to succeed
  • Take an active interest in the on-going development of others and continually look to improve the effectiveness of the team
  • Support business development work, helping with the technical side of sales opportunities or helping recruit the best and brightest developers in the industry.
  • Liaise with Business Analysts to interpret business requirements and produce high quality agile technical specifications supported by technical designs
  • Ensure that the developers on your team produce software components that meet the quality and architectural standards agreed for the team, including the documentation and implementation of unit tests, scripts and test harnesses
  • Work with programme leadership to identify and reduce risk both within your team and for the programme as a whole

Requirements

  • At least 4 years' recent experience developing eCommerce solutions in an agile development team including at least 1 years' recent experience operating in a Technical Team Lead role for a team developing eCommerce solutions
  • Has delivered at least two eCommerce solutions, through to deployment and go-live
  • Experience of design & implementation of market leading packages in the following functional areas:
    • Commerce (hybris)
  • Experience of working in a project-based environment, liaising with customers throughout the entire solution delivery lifecycle while managing their demands and expectations
  • Experience working in development teams using agile development methods and supporting tools such as Scrum and Kanban
  • Experience with continuous integration and automated testing tools
  • Proven capability for identifying technical solutions to complex business problems
  • Drive and determination to continually learn new things and develop yourself into a world class digital developer
  • Passion for digital and technology
  • Attention to detail and good problem-solving skills
  • A team player who enjoys working with others to solve problems and sharing knowledge
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • A balance of logical problem solving and innovative thinking
  • A good graduate degree (1st or Upper Second) combined with post-graduate experience in consulting or industry

Preferred skillset

  • Experience of streamlining configuration management
  • Experience of software testing processes including the creation and execution of test scripts.
  • Interest in developing the organisation, building and documenting processes, and evaluating tools
  • Knowledge of good practice around usability, maintainability and accessibility
  • Experience of design & implementation of market leading packages in the following functional areas:
    • Commerce (ATG or other java based platforms)
    • Search & merchandising (Oracle Endeca, Fredhopper or similar)
    • Content management (Adobe CQ, OpenText ECM, Oracle WebCenter or similar)
    • Order management (IBM Sterling Order Management, Manhattan Order Lifecycle Management or similar)
    • Product information management (hybris, Heiler, Stibo or similar)
    • Digital asset management (Adobe CQ, OpentText Media Management, Oracle WebCenter or similar)
